Warwick School Gym Refurbishment
With great pleasure we present our gym refurbishment at Warwick School. Solid Athletix conducted a full site visit in late 2018 taking measurements and discussing plans for renovation of the existing training space:
During initial discussions it became clear that the priority was two-fold: de-clutter the space from old, unused equipment and install a gym flooring suitable for free-weight training. Accordingly we prepared 3D design ideas, going back and forth with staff, before agreeing on a final set of designs:
The area is split into two as per the drawing above. The 'Strength' area, with existing power racks, is equipped with 40mm High Impact rubber tiles and Solid wooden lifting platform. Creating a level base (free from trip hazards) on which to perform Olympic Lifting, whilst protecting the subfloor and equipment from the dropping of heavy weight from height.
Transitioning to a 'Functional' area where a custom marked sled lane is laid flush 20mm rubber tiles, 2 x pull up bars and 5 x Suspension Trainer wall anchors. We provided a range of functional training accessories (dumbbells, kettlebells, slam balls, battle ropes) and 2 x 3-tier mass storage racks to keep the floor space tidy. Work got under way on Thursday afternoon during half term and with the help of 8 operatives was completed by next day Friday evening. Phase I involved stripping out old equipment and flooring:
Phase II was executing on the agreed design. Full length mirrors were also replaced to provide a brighter environment to train. If you would like to book in a site visit a free gym design please don't hesitate to get in contact.
